The Magic of Burts Bees – Top 3 Winter Essentials

Everytime I pop into Boots – which is quite often, I find myself walking up and down the skin care section, summer and winter, always ending up looking near the Burts Bees section, and have done for a while now. I have to admit, I always thought they were a little bit out of my budget. Being a student and all, I can’t seem to afford a lot of luxuries, but recently I decided to treat myself.

These all natural products are supposed to do the world of wonder for your skin. With 4 and 5 star reviews, I had to pick myself a gift set to try and review now we’re in the festive season, and I’ve picked my top 3 most used/favourites out of the set.

I bought this set and started to use it a week and a half ago now and can already tell the differences it’s made.

The websites description for the Tips and Toes set is a follws: “Soften and care for your hard-working hands and feet with a kit designed especially for them. This collection of our rich creams and softening butters will keep your hands and feet naturally soft and beautiful“. Sounds pretty nice, right?

The set contains Almond&Milk Hand Cream, Hand Salve, Honey&Grapeseed Hand Cream, Coconut Foot Cream, Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream and a Replenishing Lip Balm. Now to me, even though these products are minis, you still get so much in them! I can see my Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream in particular lasting a long time. All the products smell incredible, the Almond and Milk Hand Cream especially leaves a lovely smell on your hands, even a while after applying, and is really moisturising for in between your fingers and really works on hard dry skin on your knuckles.

My number one product in the set that stood out the most to me had to be the foot cream. I always use foot creams or powders, and since the dramatic change in weather in October my Lush Foot Powder was doing more harm than good by drying my feet out. Even though I’ve only used this product now for a week and a half, I can already tell the difference, and the scent is strong and lingeurs for a while. It’s a thick honey like substance, and is more oily than anything, so I would advise to use this before bed and wear cosy socks!! (I know, sleeping with socks! But trust me). I’ve found if you apply this before going out, and wear dolly shoes, your feet will slip and slide around in your shoes – so don’t do this!

This. Hand. Cream.

Wow! Honestly, the smell is intoxicating😍 It’s beautiful. I’ve used this on my hands twice everyday for nearly two weeks now and everytime someone has commented on how nice I smell. Again, like the foot cream, it’s a strong smell, but it isn’t in your face. It’s also super gentle on hard/cracked skin. I only use a walnut sized amount on the palm of my hands, and a little bit on my knuckles and wrists.

With this product, a little goes a long way.

Lastly, the lip balm in this set is one of the nicest I’ve had in a long time. I struggle with finding a lip balm I like, and this one has such a lovely fruitly scent to it, and it isn’t too heavy or ‘crayonie’ on my lips. I’ve owned a burts bee lip balm once before bought as a gift – but I lost it, and honestly I forgot how much I loved it. It’s moisturising and is suitable for night and day. What more could you want?

Do you have any burts bees favourite products that i could try? Or have I missed out a favourite of yours in the set on my list? Let me know 🙂
